    ENO

Nowadays, companies created in France in the field of the creation and the design of objects and furniture is rare. Thus, ENO, “Edition Nouveaux Objets”, is a real exception. This new company was founded in 2006 by Jean-Dominique Lèze, General Director, and by François Bernard, Artistic Director. This company is a producer: its role is to bring the best duos ever together, between talented designers on the one side and talented manufacturers on the other, in order to produce new objects. Jean-Dominique Lèze and François Bernard already collaborated between 2004 and 2006, within Artcodif, the Design Institute of the decorative Arts museum of Paris, where they created the new art/design/fashion collection, well-known as the brand: “107 Rivoli”. By creating ENO today, their goal is to produce a range of products which are simple, useful and beautiful at the same time. In a world of continuous consumerism that creates more and more products everyday, which are more and more indiscreet, ENO, on the contrary, goes for plain reserve. It makes it a rule to be discreet. The ENO objects are discreet, quiet, but not mute. They simply express what they are, without trying to be impressive. François Bernard summarizes: “These objects help us to live and to brighten our daily life without bothering us.” An outsider, according to the dictionary, is “somebody who goes somewhere without being invited, nor desired.” We could say the same thing about an object. These of the ENO collection are not intrusive. At the opposite, they are so attractive that they are about to become familiar soon, or even essential. When we are speaking about modern and timeless, ordinary and luxurious, basic and sophisticated, all we think about is Japan, the country where the least object, traditional or modern, is subtlety. Why, in Occident, daily life products couldn’t pretend to the same refinement? That is the point that ENO chose to create this brand new collection, with a secret desire to realise objects that stand for their time, and, why not, that could become the standards of tomorrow…
