Leather has always been an interiors classic and now designer Annick Petersen is taking this versatile material in a new sculptural direction with her curvy vessels. Drawing inspiration from the contours of the natural world such as dried seed pods and the sienna colored hills of summer, Annick is repurposing off-cuts of leather to create these stunning organic sculptures. Annick and her team cut, bend and stitch each piece together by hand using seagrass cord which adds texture and emphasises their curvy forms. Annick Petersen says: “By cutting, stitching, bending and layering I am reforming leather to create sculptural designs that echo the natural world and have a strong visual impact.”
