An-Bar
The Sumerian word An-Bar is the oldest term designating iron. Two pictograms, “sky” and “fire”, compose this ancient word. Forged with two different techniques, this sculpture creates a beautiful dichotomy. Its surface shows the transformation of steel from its polished state to chaos, in a continuous interplay of references and dualities.
“Heavenly Memories” is a collection that includes four unique works, four points of view on metal. These sculptural pieces are perfect examples of Alessandro Rametta’s dialogue on the relationship between mankind, matter and technique. The Master of Arts and Crafts Alessandro Rametta forges objects made of steel, copper, bronze and brass. Experimenting with different processing methods, he reinterprets the old while adopting a modern approach.
