Burano Plate Ø 36 Acquamarine
Burano Plate Ø 36 is a unique tableware piece by Alcarol that brings a fragment of submerged Venice to your home. A sheet of transparent aquamarine resin with a constellation of air bubbles surrounds a section of “Bricola”. The wooden element has a particular pattern of solids and voids which resembles lace. This is the result of corrosion by mollusks. Also, it is a reference to Burano, a Venetian island famous for its lace.
“Bricola” is a traditional timber pole, originally planted in the Venetian Lagoon seabed. Alcarol upcycles this discarded elements, transforming them in incredible design pieces.
