Coffee table cafe 6116
Coffee table cafe 6116 takes inspiration from Persian carpets. Dutch Masters like Ferdinand Bol and Rembrandt already captured them in 17th century portraits of aristocrats. In the early 20th century, Persian carpets appeared in average households on top of tables. Around 1980 the table runners disappeared from the tables. However, this design brings an ode to the Persian carpets.
Carpets are processed into table tops with a super smooth surface. Scars, which remain in sight after processing, are the evidence of their former function. Ruben van Megyn uses carpets that witnessed the events in the lives of their owners for many years. The ravages of time characterized and beautified them. The designer captures the years of memories and secrets, fossilizing them forever.
This dining table has a slender frame that carries the table top as if it is feathery light. The frame is magnificent in its simplicity and beautifully combines with the table top.
