Low Table HomeSet
The Low Table is part of the “HomeSet” collection by Boris Brucher. The main concept behind this project is that the modern interior exists primarily as an image for social media. In other words, the photographic image of an object is more important than the object itself. The designer illustrates the gap between representation and reality by highlighting the divorce between image and shape, intention and comfort, picture and experience.
Boris Brucher constructed an ensemble out of scaffolding and upholstered fabric. Then, he draped it with images of popular furniture published in influential interior magazines and loved by social media superstars. These include Jeanneret chairs and a Perriand stool. The deliberate mismatch between the photographed object and the actual shape emphasizes the superficiality of our image-saturated world.
