The Meltingpot Table Bistro Monochrome perfectly showcase its ever-changing, mutable contents: reclaimed synthetics. Disparate sources maintain their individual properties through a house-developed extrusion process. A robotic arm works in collaboration with the designer’s hand. The gravity of the meltingpot table deceives its origins: refrigerator interiors, lawn furniture, and other discarded synthetics find new consequence as ubermaterial. Measuring a solid 30mm thick, the process reintroduces plastic as an indestructible and autonomous material. Once milled and polished, the final table consists of a circular plateau resting atop a conical base. Available in a range of four diameters, this versatile design is suitable as a bistro setting or family dining table.
