McCollin Bryan is London based design studio exploiting the individual qualities of their signature materials.
They design and produce a distinctive portfolio of sculptural furniture and collectible design they describe as interior jewellery.
As material-focused designers, Don McCollin and Maureen Bryan have two key materials they’ve built their reputation on. One is resin in which cast forms and refracted light create seductive depths of colour. Another one is plaster transformed to ‘imaginary marble’ using the skilful scagliola technique.
McCollin Bryan was established in 1998. McCollin began his career studying textiles at the Royal College of Art, giving him an excellent eye for textures and patterns, whereas Bryan studied ceramics at Middlesex Polytechnic, which has afforded her a keen ability to focus on the structural impact of designs.
Their functional sculptures are produced with craft-centric methods to stand the test of time.
