Waste waste 40×40 collector’s display

Piet Hein Eek

10 years ago, we presented glasses and other small stuff and made some kind of sheet material display cases especially for that occasion. Actually a kind of non-design, just for presentation. For the next eight years, we kept using the dilapidated display cases to sell our small stuff. This year, we are making “presenting small stuff” our main goal again. I have come up with 40×40 Waste Waste Collector Cases. Instead of being as cheap as possible and only functional, they now become like works of art in themselves!
One advantage of working with the same people for a long time and exploring a topic in depth is that more and more becomes possible and also with less effort. I have been convinced for some time that, in terms of sustainability, there is much more to be gained by pursuing sustainable processes, instead of sitting aimlessly in an electric car or making worthless architecture because the materials can be recycled after it falls apart or no longer functions. Making a product for eternity in a fun and efficient process is the holy grail, you might say!
