Long Neck Bottle – Blue Tape

Long Neck Bottle is made of glass and ceramics. These materials become respectively soft and hard at different temperatures; they can never melt and fuse together. Therefore, Hella Jongerius chose to link them with a common type of tape used for the packaging of fragile objects. As a result, a simple plastic tape has become the constructional device of each vase, subverting the usual structural hierarchy.
