Meatgrinded Mocking Chair

The mocking chair is made with a meatgrinder which I modified to be able to make hollow ceramic tubes. With the help of my self-made table which can go up and down, I was able to let the tubes dry as a 3 dimensional object. In this way I started making ceramic chairs and now this rocking chair (Meatgrinded Mocking Chair) is the newest version of this series. I find it very interesting how people approach my ceramic Meatgrinded chairs because ceramics is known as a fragile material but in my way of working with high fired stoneware, it is possible to make functional chairs and stools.
This rocking chair pushes this fragile image even further and people are questioning its functionality even more but this rocking chair works very well. It’s for me an important experiment on my ceramic research to find all the hidden possibilities of ceramics.
