RFC + 8

RFC + 8 is a suspended blown-glass lamp, one of thirteen designs for the Royal Glass Factory. The Factory has an extraordinary collection of more than 4500 casts of historical and artistic interest. Among them, twenty-two molds were selected to form a collection of suspension lamps. Some have revived after a lethargic rest and have returned to honor their history. Mayice studio gives these discarded molds a new utility by incorporating them in a contemporary vision. The RFC + collection reflects the studio’s fascination with the purity and tradition of glass. Acquiring a RFC + lamp helps to preserve a piece of historical heritage.

Manufactured in a traditional manner using the cane-working technique, each mold has its own identity and style. The passage of light through the glass generates halos on the ground, reflecting the unique configuration of each mold. The colorless glass highlights the pure essence of its volume, generating a dialogue between tradition, technology and natural beauty. The light source is a unique piece, designed to illuminate the space and backlight the material.
