Octo

The Monozoo collection is Andrea Salvetti’s signature collection. Everything contributes to making it exemplary of his path. The figurative starting point of the works are animals, beings and forms that exist in nature, and nature is a big ideal in Salvetti. Because what nature has done, it has done well and forever. The collection consists of seven pieces, on display the Octo, in a marriage of design and sculpture. What makes it the artist’s trademark is the technique by which aluminum, Salvetti’s beloved material, is worked: lost-wax casting, his signature sign. When the Monozoo comes into the world, aluminum piece after aluminum piece, the intent is to communicate its nature, in part of similar quivering-looking animals, sometimes of objects of use, a stool or a table. The Monozoo investigates the relationship between man and nature, in a synthesis of sculpture and design.
