Octave Threshold
Made of solid wood, the work takes the form of a portal set upon a stone threshold. Set into vibration by electronic devices, the structure produces perceptible vibrations and audible musical content, activating the portal as a resonant and sounding body. The lightness of the vertical structure is balanced by the stability and groundedness of the stone base, which defines its support.
Ianua Octasona is an octagonal sonic portal, conceived as a primary threshold. Its form evokes an original condition of passage, protection, and resonance. The work is dedicated to the time of gestation, when every life dwells in the mother’s womb before entering the world. The metaphor remains open to every passage in existence.
