Non in door
Non in Door, is an installation that reimagines one of the most fundamental architecturalelements: the door. Emerging from the initial challenge to create a door using silicone evolves into a conceptual and material exploration of a pressing contemporary question: what does a door mean when it no longer protects you? Non in Door takes the form of a door frame that holds silicone threads that conjure the outline of a barrier while simultaneously dismantling its function. It is a ghost, the trace of a structure that once embodied safety and separation. In this work, Ciffo reflects on an era defined by the erosion of the private sphere. The boundary between inside and outside, once clearly demarcated by physical thresholds, is now blurred to the point of intangibility. The holes that puncture the surface and the silicon threads symbolize the invisible mechanisms that govern contemporary life, giving the same illusion as the digital agreements of a system that promises openness while quietly enforcing exposure. The work invites viewers to confront their own complicity in systems that trade intimacy for convenience, and to reconsider the meaning of boundaries in a hyper-connected world.
