Barbie Dolls

Chris Jordan

Barbie Dolls is an interesting artwork which depicts 32,000 Barbies. Equal to the number of elective breast augmentation surgeries performed monthly in the US in 2006. Barbie Dolls is available as a photographic print on Fuji Crystal Archive Maxima paper mounted on aluminum with acrylic face and black wood frames.

This piece is part of “Running the Numbers” an ongoing series from 2006. It looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics. A collective voracity that nobody wants to be responsible for.
