Bocht

Studio Jelmerreus

BOCHT by Jelmer Reus is part of an ongoing body of work exploring the potential of Multylino, a material developed from 100% recycled linoleum waste. Within this evolving collection, each object emerges from a newly developed technique or a specific application rooted in the material’s inherent properties. From this broader research, the form of BOCHT takes shape—pushing linoleum beyond its conventional use into a fluid, continuous geometry that highlights its unique flexibility. This inherent quality introduces a subtle resilience in the backrest, providing comfort without mechanical components. Each chair carries a unique “material color passport,” composed from the available linoleum, embedding the origin of the material into the final object. Through BOCHT, Reus articulates an expanding practice in which material research, craftsmanship, and form continuously inform one another across a growing collection of Multylino objects.
