Echo Dining Table
Conceived by architecture and design practice UUfie, Echo Dining Table is an intriguing piece. It envisions an elusive reality where metal and wood become one. The beauty of wood lies in the stories it tells; while metal’s attractiveness is in its malleability. By exposing the hardwood and removing the softwood to forge metal in each growth cycle, a new, singular material is born. This table features a contrasting gradient of colors. The thin tabletop and legs further enhance its intangible appearance.
The Echo table series is part of Uufie’s ongoing exploration on materials. The studio likes to push the boundaries and to alter the perception of materials. Each table uses a special wood composite that tapers out on the edges and blends into the metal. Tabletops are available in three different sizes and rest on slender legs that emphasize a slightly curved bottom and a narrow section in the middle. The variations in tabletops render organic shapes, allowing activity and motion to be natural in any space. This collection was manufactured by Matter of stuff+Toscari and presented at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during Milan design week 2017.
