Pleat Vessel Medium

The Pleat Vessel is a sculptural vessel made with 3D printed Bavarian sand appearing to be caught in motion with a binding material. The form of the vessel is inspired by the movement and patterns in sand and reveals the beauty of sand as a material.
The form catches light from various angles over the sand textured surface creating soft variations and contrasts of light and shadow and bringing the object to life. The piece is a part of Rive Roshan’s body of work – ‘Sand in Motion’ – and is made in collaboration with German company – Sandhelden. Each sculptural object adds a breath of life to the space it exists in.
