Silla al mimbre
A reinterpretation of the classic mexican butaque, a historical piece from southeastern Mexico known for its relaxed throne-like presence. Here, that presence is translated through wicker, a traditional craft technique in Mexico. The structure remains simple, allowing the material and its texture to define the piece. Having grown up in the south, the use of wicker carries a sense of memory and familiarity, bringing a subtle layer of nostalgia into the work. This piece emerged from working with what was immediately available, reflecting an approach to design rooted in context and material.
