Omecara
Studio Omecara is a Luxembourg-based practice founded in 2020 by Nicolas Boon and Tatiana Garcia. Their collaboration, rooted in a shared formation in Brussels, unfolds as a dialogue between distinct yet complementary sensibilities. Nicolas Boon, of Italian-Belgian origin, was born in Luxembourg in 1983 and graduated in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts (Visual and Spatial Arts) from ERG (École de Recherche Graphique – Saint-Luc). Tatiana Garcia, born in Ecuador in 1987, completed a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Visual and Spatial Arts) at ESA Le 75 in 2011. Conceived as the natural evolution of an ongoing exchange, Studio Omecara operates across interior architecture, collectible objects, furniture, lighting, and visual arts. Their work is guided by a pursuit of essentiality, where form, material, and proportion are carefully calibrated to achieve a sense of permanence. Rejecting the superfluous, each project is developed as a cohesive system in which every element exists in deliberate relation to the whole. Rooted in a nuanced cultural sensibility, their practice engages with memory, tactility, and emotional resonance. Materials are approached as carriers of meaning, revealing depth through subtle gestures and restrained compositions. At the intersection of structure and atmosphere, their work explores the transformation of surface into presence, where material becomes both language and form.
