Nacho Carbonell, 3 years, Galleria Rossana Orlandi – November 2011
3 years ago Rossana Orlandi and Spanish artist/designer Nacho Carbonell signed the first exclusivity agreement for “Evolution” collection. Nacho Carbonell, one of the most remarkable talents graduating from Eindhoven Design Academy under Li Edelkoort’s direction, soon becomes the leading artist of Galleria Rossana Orlandi.
Since then, this collaboration has been developing and strengthening through other editions, unique masterpieces and the participation to international fairs such as Art Basel Design Miami, Art Basel Miami Beach and Just Mad during Arco in Madrid, besides the exhibition “Diversity” held at Palazzo Gianfranco Ferré in Milan in 2010.
This new retrospective goes over these last three years of collaboration, and represents an unprecedented occasion to see for the first time in Italy the masterpieces of the collection “Playground Closes at Dusk”, a monumental series of outdoor creations presented at Design Miami Basel in June 2011, as well as “Bush of Iron”, manifesto of 2010 collection “Diversity”.
A series of skecthes, sculptures and maquettes expressly created by Nacho Carbonell for this occasion will also be on display: they represent the most experimental phase of his work, where iconographic and conceptual themes, that will flow into his future creations, are rooted.
