Dorico Stool – Refined version is an experimental piece by Corradino Garofalo.
This interesting design captures an essential relationship between individuals and society. Its particular materials symbolically describe this relationship. A single reed represents the individual. One strand, as part of a bundle, composes a social unit. By adding design to this mix, we see the bundle strengthen and transform. Collected, assembled and bound together, reeds collectively reinforce each other and become a structural element. Finally, a refined steel ring solidifies this bond.
