Mural for Milan 500 years after Leonardo
Old moon, new image.
Eight moons, all the same.
Everything flows, influential, shining shy.
The mural draws inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s 500-year-old drawings of the moon, created in Milan. The moon, an object that has always fascinated us, moving the tides and sparking the imagination, takes centre stage in the mural through its various phases. The mural is hand-carved from an antique plank of oak; the eight moons set into it are cast in bronze and patinated by hand.
