Marre Moerel
Marre Moerel was born in Breda, the Netherlands in 1966. Moerel studied fashion design in Rotterdam (NL), and received an BA Hons in sculpture from Exeter, England. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1991 with a Masters Degree in furniture design. In 1993 she moved to New York City, where she worked for 10 years as fine artist, freelance designer and taught furniture design at Parsons School of Design from 1995-1999. In 2002, to expand her horizons and in search for new inspiration, Moerel moved to Madrid, Spain, where she established her own design studio and gallery. From here she works on self-initiated projects; she has developed her own collection of products which range from Furniture Design, Lighting, Product, and Accessories but also continues her conceptual work as fine artist to create unique and limited edition pieces.
