Chess and Backgammon Table

The Chess and Backgammon Table is made of handcrafted woods. The fine and playful woodwork puts an emphasis on the importance of handcraft.

To create this piece, Hillsideout took inspiration from a basket painted in “I bari” (“The Cardsharps”), an artwork by Caravaggio. There, the painter shows a wooden column formerly used as a basket for dices.

Table games are becoming important again in contemporary culture; this is a wonderful tendency as it contrasts the ancient and digital world.
