Michaela Vrbková

Michaela Vrbková is a Czech multidisciplinary artist focused on working with materials. Her theme is the destigmatization of craft techniques, including so-called women’s work. She creates anthropomorphic objects by crocheting from constructiong string, and bakes face masks from bread dough. Recycling and waste-free processing of materials are also very important for her work. She applies this in the field of design, where she creates furniture and furniture accessories for the family company RAP. Michaela participates in many Czech and international exhibitions, symposiums and residencies. She has also participated on artistic projects in architecture. Her work is represented in gallery and private collections. Michaela lives and works in Prague.
