Armand Louis, co-founder of atelier oï, tests the limits of traditional glassblowing, working at the fornace alongside Murano’s master artisans to develop new glass expressions. Now based in Venice, he dedicates his practice to experimental blown glass, working closely with Wave Murano Glass and its founder Roberto Beltrami. Appointed Artistic Director of Wave Murano Glass in 2025, Louis has since shaped the fornace’s identity through the opening of its new showroom and the development of eight new collections. His latest work will be exhibited in Venice, Milan, Paris, and Zurich through Roberto Beltrami, is a glass artisan and founder of Wave Murano Glass. Raised between Italy and the United States, his scientific curiosity moved him from physics to craft, merging technique with experimentation. Self-made within Murano’s tradition, he respects centuries-old practices while introducing contemporary processes and youthful inquiry. As the youngest Maestro Vetraio of Murano, he leads a team producing handcrafted blown glass in his fornace, elevating traditional know‐how through innovation. His scientific background informs novel technical solutions for clients, positioning Wave Murano Glass as a bridge between heritage and modern design.
